Little Book Chapter 10: All the Wiser

Since its inception, Little Book has been 8th-generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe’s personal playground: an annual series that honors his grandfather Booker’s approach to whiskey while carving out a distinctly modern perspective. But Chapter 10 is not just another installment – it’s the culmination of everything Freddie has learned along the way.

“Ten whole chapters of Little Book, and through every one of them, I’ve learned something new,” Noe said in a news release. “Back in the beginning, I looked at blends differently, focusing on percentages and ‘perfection.’ The whiskey sure tasted good, but I had a feeling I was missing out on something bigger. So, I set out on a journey to see what the whiskey could teach me.”

And so, Noe shifted his philosophy for this release. All The Wiser reflects a more intuitive approach, one that embraces the unpredictability of blending and allows the whiskey itself to lead. The result is a whiskey that feels more discovered than past releases.

This year’s blend draws from a spectrum of aged expressions across The James B. Beam Distilling Co. portfolio, including components finished in sherry and toasted bourbon casks.

“No matter how sure I am of the profile I want to get to, the whiskey has its own plans,” Noe said. “So now, I don’t push it towards one specific outcome.I guide it, and I let it guide me. With every chapter, I’ve gotten more at ease with the push and pull. Chapter 10 is only possible because of what I gleaned from the chapters before it.”

Bottled at 122.6 proof (61.3% ABV), All The Wiser is positioned to become one of the most sought-after chapters yet, a true collector’s bottle that tells a deeper story with every pour.

“All the Wiser” represents the 10th chapter of the main series. This expression includes six bourbons from one of several Beam labels. The oldest one is a 14 year old from Basil Hayden—an entry-level brand that isn’t especially known for its big age statements. That whiskey is joined by two parcels of Knob Creek, one aged for 11 years, and the other 9. Next comes a notably old Booker’s, clocking in at 10 years old compared to the brand’s typical 7 years. There’s also a 9 year old from Baker’s, a very underrated single barrel label that often goes overlooked compared to its more prominent stablemates. All of these well-aged ingredients are rounded out by a 4 year old Jim Beam bourbon that was double-finished in toasted bourbon barrels and sherry casks. The final product was bottled at 61.3% ABV.
