Cask maturation is a centerpiece of The GlenAllachie’s approach to whisky making and a driving focus, if not an obsession, for Master Distiller Billy Walker. And so it follows that The GlenAllachie’s US importer, ImpEx Beverages Inc., would seek one of the distillery’s exceptionally aged casks for America’s 250th birthday—something truly worthy of the occasion. For this bottling, The GlenAllachie’s classic Speyside malt is given a parade-worthy sendup courtesy of a multi-year finish in sought-after Japanese mizunara oak.

• Double distilled in copper pot stills from 100% unpeated malted barley
• Aged 11 years; approximately 8 years in first-fill ex-bourbon and 3.5 years in a virgin mizunara oak hogshead from Japan
• Distilled August 7, 2014; bottled March 2026
• On the nose, salted caramel, mocha, and honey are accented with significant sandalwood spice and nutmeg plus a hint of stewed cherries. On the palate, chocolate and heather honey are pricked with baking spices, broadening to toasted hazelnuts, molasses, and candied orchard fruits
• Limited US release of only 305 bottles
• No added coloring
• Non-chill filtered; 60.7% ABV
